A new collaborative project between between Tim Swager at MIT, Dr. Stella Lee at Mass General Brigham (MGB), and our lab recently was one of the winners of the the Inaugural [MIT-MGB Seed Grant](https://news.mit.edu/2025/mit-mass-general-brigham-launch-seed-program-innovations-health-0627). The mission is twofold: first, to create a quantitative test for the sense of smell, and second to create a implantable integrated device that can aid in smelling for patients who have lost it for various reasons (COVID, aging, etc.). A year ago we just [published on our vision](https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11948017/) of how we can learn from biology to create better electronic noses, and here we are securing funds to do exactly that in the pursuit of better patient care.
