 Irini graduated from Carnegie Mellon University in 2015 with a BS in materials science &amp; engineering, and an additional major in biomedical engineering. She joined the Wyss Institute as a Research Fellow in the Aizenberg lab shortly after, and is working on applications of SLIPS spanning cell sheet engineering, patterned wettability, and protein/biological interactions. When not in lab, she enjoys hiking and playing the piano.  
  
Her research interests include biomaterials and biomimetic smart surfaces for medical devices, drug delivery, and tissue engineering.
