Wendong did his B.Sc in Nanjing University in the city of Nanjing in southeast China, before moving to Toronto for his graduate studies in the area of ordered mesoporous materials with [Dr. Geoffrey Ozin](http://www.chem.utoronto.ca/ppl/faculty_profile.php?id=49) at University of Toronto in 2006. In June 2011, he finished his PhD program and joined Dr. Joanna Aizenberg's lab. He currently works on magnetically responsive slippery surfaces. His scientific and technological interests include biomimetics, morphogenesis, shape-synthesis, dynamic system, optics, and biomaterials. In his spare time, he plays soccer, practices Taekwondo, travels, reads for pleasure, and [builds his website](http://wendongwang.com).
