Elena Ferrari
PRISE Scholar
Elena is a 2025 PRISE Scholar and a sophomore in Leverett house currently studying bioengineering and philosophy. She is interested in physical and engineering approaches to biological problems, and is currently working with Reena Paink on developing cilia-inspired surfaces with flow-generating, anti-biofouling, and environmentally responsive properties. In the past, she has done research with the Horb Lab at the MBL of UChicago. Outside of the lab, Elena enjoys writing and reading poetry, leading trips with the Outing Club and First-Year Outdoor Program, and editing for the Undergraduate Research Journal.
