Jessi van der Hoeven

Jessi van der Hoeven obtained her bachelor and master degree cum Laude at Utrecht University. During her master research Jessi studied the behavior of colloidal particles near oil water interfaces in the Van Blaaderen group and worked on "Single atom catalysts" with Prof. Diebold and Parkinson at the TU Wien. She then obtained her PhD degree at Utrecht University under the supervision of Prof. P.E. de Jongh and Prof. A. van Blaaderen. Her research was focused on the synthesis, in situ characterization, catalytic testing and self-assembly of differently structured gold based nanorods.

Since October 2019, Jessi is a postdoctoral fellow working in the Aizenberg and Friend group, where she will use well-defined bimetallic nanoparticles as selective hydrogenation and oxidation catalysts.
