Richard Ding
Coop Student 2026
Richard is a Mechatronics Engineering student at the University of Waterloo. He works with Raphael Kay on advancing fluidic technologies for sustainable buildings and energy management.
His interests lie in the design and control of physical systems, with experience in microfluidics, optics, soft robotics, and dynamic modeling. He develops integrated platforms across mechanical, electrical, and embedded domains, with a focus on democratizing access to research grade tools and enabling sustainable technologies through low-cost, scalable design.
Outside the lab, Richard enjoys cycling, running, traveling, and recreating dishes from his hometown.
